HET VERHAAL
A finished perfume is invisible on the skin, but the system behind it is physical. Natural fragrance materials depend on agriculture, climate, cultivation, processing and trade. Modern formulas may combine those materials with aroma molecules produced through industrial chemistry. Follow enough ingredients and a single bottle becomes a map. That map is not automatically ethical or simple. Different materials have different labour conditions, environmental pressures, extraction methods and levels of traceability. “Natural” alone tells us very little about the quality of the supply chain. This is why World of MATAGI can treat a formula as a network rather than a secret recipe. Rose, jasmine, resins, woods, spices, vanilla or synthetic molecules can each open a different route into geography and material history, but only where their use in a specific fragrance is documented. The creative opportunity is strong: scent can connect material provenance with migration, trade and science without needing to become a visual motif. The perfume disappears into air. Its ingredients do not. They come from somewhere.
